Where Global Business Happens; Welcome to the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show.
ITB Berlin once again was able to gather all the leading players in the market. A slight rise in exhibitor attendance and stable trade visitor numbers from both Germany and abroad ensured the trade fair was a success. Bookings reported for ITB Berlin were impressively high and on a level with last year's figures.
The focus this year was on Turkey, the partner country which had many exciting products and services to show both to trade visitors and the general public. In numbers, this year the World’s Leading Travel Show attracted over 11,000 exhibitors from 187 countries all of whom presented the latest products and services from the service industry. Attendance figures revealed a positive picture with a total of 179,351 visitors compared to 2009 with 178,971. Between Wednesday and Friday 110,953 trade visitors were registered with 45% of them coming from abroad in comparison to last years’ 42%. A considerably higher number came from Asia this year. The public visitors who entered the fairground this year during the weekend looking for information reached 68,398 whereas in 2009 there were 68,114. Dr. Christian Göke, Chief Operating Officer Messe Berlin, gave a very positive assessment: “ITB Berlin 2010 broke records despite the difficult overall economic situation.”
Next year ITB Berlin will take place from 9th - 13th March 2011 and Poland will be the partner country.
